The lacquer is a natural coating obtained by processing collected sap of sumac tree of Anacardiaceae. As a coating, it is also utilized as an adhesive for gold leaf.

Elegant finish

He manipulates freely gold leaf swayed in the breeze. It makes the atmosphere which repels anybody.

Thickness of the gold leaf is 0.1 micrometer. Luster of a gold leaf is soft, and it had also  been used for decoration as a symbol of power of “Shogun” and “Daimyo”.
